How to install Metasploitable on Virtual Box
Metaspolitable is an intentionally vulnerable Virtual Machine which can be used to practice hacking or penetration testing.
Download Metasploitable from-
Metasploitable — Browse /Metasploitable2 at SourceForge.net
After Downloading extract the files.
After extracting the file open Virtual Box.
Click on New- By clicking here you can create a new virtual machine.
Set Name as metaspoitable
Select Type as Linux
Select Version as Debian 64 bit
Click Next.
Keep the default memory size.
Click Next.
When you would see the above window select Use an existing virtual hard disk file and then click the small yellow folder icon which will ask you to choose a virtual hard disk file.
Click in Add Disk Image Option
Navigate and Select the ‘metasploitable.vmdk’ file.
Click Choose
Then click on create.
This will create the Virtual Machine.
Click on Start.
You have now successfully installed Metasploitable on Virtual Box and can practice your hacking skills.
The default login credentials are-
username-msfadmin
password-msfadmin
